FAQ

  • 1. What services does Community Assistance Healthcare Services provide?

We offer a full range of in-home care services, including personal care, companion care, respite care, post-hospital and rehabilitation support, and memory care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our caregivers assist with daily routines like bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation, and medication reminders—all in the comfort and safety of home.

  • How do I know if my loved one qualifies for home care services?

Eligibility depends on the type of care needed and the program or payment method used. During your free in-home assessment, we’ll review your loved one’s needs, discuss available funding options (including Medicaid, insurance, and private pay), and create a personalized care plan.

  • What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve clients throughout Region 7 & Region 8 in Texas. If you’re not sure whether we cover your location, contact us—we’ll help determine service availability or refer you to a trusted partner agency.

  • 4. Are your caregivers trained and background-checked?

Yes. Every caregiver employed by Community HCS is thoroughly screened, background-checked, and trained in accordance with Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) standards. Ongoing education ensures our team delivers the highest quality, compassionate care.

  • What is the difference between home care and home health care?

Home care focuses on non-medical personal assistance—such as help with bathing, dressing, and companionship—while home health care involves skilled nursing or therapy services provided under a doctor’s supervision. We specialize in personal assistance services (PAS) and can coordinate with other healthcare professionals when needed.

  • How does private pay work for home care services?

Private pay means services are paid directly by the client or family rather than through Medicaid or insurance. It allows for greater flexibility in scheduling, services, and caregiver selection. We provide transparent rates and customized care plans that fit your budget. Many families use private pay to supplement hours not covered by insurance or government programs.

  • Do you accept Medicaid or insurance?

Yes. Community HCS is a licensed Personal Assistance Services (PAS) provider in Texas and accepts select Medicaid waiver programs. We can help you verify eligibility and guide you through the authorization process. goes here

  • How soon can services start?

In many cases, services can begin within a few days of your assessment—sometimes sooner for urgent needs. We’ll work quickly to match your loved one with the right caregiver and ensure a smooth start to care.

  • Can I choose my caregiver?

We make every effort to match clients with caregivers who fit their personality, needs, and schedule. If you ever feel a change is needed, we’ll gladly make adjustments to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
